ᵀᴹ BioControl-1
Targeted Biological Control of Douglas-Fir Tussock Moth
ᵀᴹ BioControl-1 is a highly selective biological insecticide developed for the control of Douglas-Fir Tussock Moth (Orgyia pseudotsugata) larvae. Manufactured by Andermatt Canada, this baculovirus-based solution provides effective control of a major forest defoliator while preserving beneficial insects, pollinators, and other non-target organisms.
Containing a naturally occurring nucleopolyhedrovirus, ᵀᴹ BioControl-1 works when feeding larvae ingest treated foliage. Following infection, the virus replicates within the insect, causing disease and mortality in feeding larvae. Its species-specific mode of action makes it a valuable tool for sustainable forestry and integrated pest management programs.
