Soybean Looper

(Chrysodeixis includens)

Soybean looper is an important agricultural pest found throughout the Americas, particularly in the Southern United States and South America. Females can lay 300–600 eggs, and in warmer climates up to 11 generations may occur each year, allowing populations to build rapidly. Larvae feed on leaves, causing defoliation, reduced plant vigor and yield loss. Soybean is the preferred host, but soybean looper also attacks cotton, corn, peas, cucurbits, tomatoes, peppers and floriculture crops. Early detection and control are critical to prevent economic damage.

Application Guidelines

Quantity

50 - 200 mL/ha

Best Time to Apply

Target eggs and newly hatched larvae. Apply at the beginning of moth flight and continue through the larval hatching period.

Frequency

Repeat every 7 - 14 days if monitoring indicates continued pest pressure.

Application Method

Apply as a high-volume foliar spray with thorough coverage of feeding surfaces. Larvae must ingest treated foliage for effective control.

Tank Mix / Adjuvants

Compatible with most insecticides, fungicides and fertilizers. Maintain spray solution pH between 5 and 8.5. Avoid tank mixing with copper-based products.

Pre-Harvest / Residues

Can be applied up to and including the day of harvest. No maximum residue limits established.
