Madex HP®
Biological Control of Codling Moth and Oriental Fruit Moth
Developed from a naturally occurring codling moth granulovirus, this biological insecticide provides targeted control of codling moth (Cydia pomonella) and oriental fruit moth (Grapholita molesta) in pome and stone fruit crops. The virus is ingested by feeding larvae, where it replicates within the host to stop feeding activity and reduce pest populations. Highly selective and compatible with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs, it preserves beneficial insects while providing growers with an effective resistance management tool for managing these economically important pests.

Application Guidelines
100 mL/ha
Apply 2 - 4 times per larval generation, depending on pest pressure and monitoring results.
Target newly hatched larvae shortly after egg hatch for optimal performance.
Apply as a foliar spray with thorough coverage of fruit and feeding surfaces. Larvae must ingest treated plant material for infection to occur.
Compatible with most fungicides and foliar nutrients. Avoid copper-based products and spray solutions with a pH above 8.5. Consult your agronomist before mixing with insecticides.
Suitable for use throughout the growing season as part of an IPM program. Always follow local label recommendations.
Key Product Benefits
Provides selective control of codling moth and oriental fruit moth larvae while preserving beneficial insects and pollinators.
Offers a unique viral mode of action that can help prevent and manage resistance to conventional insecticides
Provides effective pest control at a low rate of 100 mL/ha, helping manage pest populations with less product.
The virus replicates within infected larvae and is released back into the environment when larvae die, helping reduce future pest populations.
Integrates seamlessly into Integrated Pest Management programs and biological control strategies.
Compatible with most commonly used fungicides and foliar nutrients, reducing the need for additional field passes.
