Helicovex®

Advanced Baculovirus Technology

Helicovex is a baculovirus-based biological insecticide that targets corn earworm larvae, offering growers of corn, outdoor hemp and cannabis a unique mode of action. This is especially valuable as 30 – 40% of populations show resistance to common chemistries. Safe for beneficial insects, Helicovex is applied during early moth flight when young larvae ingest the virus. Feeding stops quickly and mortality occurs within 5 – 7 days. Multiple applications spaced 7 – 12 days apart align with the pest’s life cycle, supporting effective population control. Highly compatible with most crop protection products, Helicovex integrates seamlessly into IPM programs. It provides both horizontal and vertical transmission within pest populations, supporting extended suppression. With no MRL, Helicovex can be applied right up to harvest, offering maximum flexibility for growers.

Key Product Benefits

Icon
Unique Mode of Action

Utilizes a naturally occurring baculovirus to specifically target and infect corn earworm larvae, providing an effective alternative where resistance to conventional chemistries is common.

Icon
Preserves Beneficial Insects

Highly selective mode of action ensures no harm to beneficial arthropods when used alone, supporting IPM programs.

Icon
Early-Stage Control

Ingested by young larvae at early moth flight, stopping feeding quickly and causing mortality within 5 - 7 days.

Icon
Lifecycle-Aligned Application

Multiple applications spaced 7 - 12 days apart match the pest’s generational turnover for sustained population suppression.

Icon
Flexible and Residue‑Free

Compatible with most crop protection products and carries no MRL, allowing use up to harvest for maximum flexibility.

Icon
Effective Against Resistant Populations

Controls corn earworm and other Helicoverpa/Heliothis species even in populations resistant to conventional insecticides, providing a reliable tool for integrated pest management.
